It’s been a long time since a comedy had me laughing this hard. The Naked Gun (2025) is not just a reboot – it’s a return to the kind of slapstick, deadpan, rapid-fire humor that’s been missing from modern comedies.

Liam Neeson, of all people, absolutely kills in the lead. His deadpan delivery is excellent and amplifies the absurdity around him. Pamela Anderson and Paul Walter Houser round out the main cast, and both experience awkward tension and ridiculous gags throughout the film.

Speaking of, there is a long list of gags – and surprisingly, most of them land. The film is packed with absurd set pieces, clever joikes, and off-the-wall lines that echo the best of Airplane! and the original Naked Gun films.

The third act loses some of the steam that the first two acts built on. The plot starts to wobble and meander too much and the final sequence doesn’t quite match up comedy wise. It doesn’t really matter though as I lost count of how much I laughed throughout the film.

If you’re craving a comedy that commits to the gags and one-liners, and actually will make you laugh – The Naked Gun delivers.
